Board approves increased hog counts for two New Fashion Pork sites

The Emmet County Board of Supervisors approved two increased hog-head-count manure management permits for New Fashion Pork Farm during its July 28 meeting. The Auditor’s Office confirmed there were no public comments filed for either permit before the board voted.
Supervisor John Pluth moved to approve the Solberg Site permit (scoring 445) and Supervisor Tim Schumacher moved to approve the White Site permit (scoring 460); both motions passed with unanimous aye votes. The board also reviewed additional manure management plans later in the meeting, including filings from Prestage Farms of Iowa and Summit Pork II, LLP.
