McLennan County begins FY27 budget work session; reconvene interrupted by courthouse evacuation

County Auditor Frances Bartlett led reviews of the General Fund, expenditure summaries, operating costs and a Step Pay Program for personnel, while department heads and outside entities presented requests. The meeting was recessed multiple times for short intervals and was scheduled to reconvene at 9:00 a.m. on July 10, 2026, but the Court was unable to reconvene because the McLennan County Courthouse was evacuated and closed on July 10; no quorum assembled and no further business was conducted. Remaining FY27 budget items will be taken up at a future meeting in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act.
