On July 27 the Seward City Council enacted Ordinance 2026‑006, which amends personnel code language to correct the definition and responsibilities of the human resources manager position.
Ashley, the HR manager, briefed the council saying the current code wrongly refers to the HR manager as a director. She explained the proposed amendment corrects the classification and replaces granular job duties with broader language more appropriate for the code. “This amendment is just two small but important changes to the human resources manager position,” she said, adding, “The HR manager operates in the administration department… I have no directorship here.”
No members of the public signed up to speak on the ordinance; the council enacted the amendment by unanimous vote as part of the meeting’s consent/public hearing business.
