Kenton County passes consent agenda; ALPR solicitation pulled for separate consideration

The Kenton County Fiscal Court approved the consent agenda items listed as Exhibits 26-107 through 26-117 with one exception: Exhibit 26-115, the request to solicit bids for an Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) system for the Kenton County Police Department, was removed from the consent agenda for separate consideration. All remaining consent items passed by a unanimous 4-0 voice vote.
Consent items approved included the NICE recording/analytics maintenance contract for Emergency Communications, a solid-waste cooperative partner agreement, a funding agreement with OKI, road resurfacing awards to Mago Construction, lease renewals, vehicle surplus transfers and other routine procurement and service contracts. Commissioner Nienaber made the motion to approve the consent agenda (minus Exhibit 26-115); Commissioner Jon Draud seconded.
County Administrator Joe Shriver later clarified the ALPR item was only to solicit bids (not a purchase) and said the administration intended to present the proposal with adequate information for public review prior to purchase. The ALPR solicitation will be considered separately from the voted consent items.
