County Administrator Joe Shriver presented Pay Applications #032 and #033 to contractor Dugan & Meyers for the Kenton County Government Center parking garage and explained there was an accounting point regarding change order four. Public Works’ Spencer Stork told the court that change orders five through ten incorporated many elements of change order four, and the net effect reduced the contract value by roughly $1.1 million through direct purchasing and tax savings.
Commissioners approved both pay applications and the change order by unanimous voice votes. Commissioner Nienaber moved to approve Pay App #032 and Commissioner Sewell moved to approve Pay App #033; the court also approved change order number four after discussion of the contract accounting.
Treasury and project staff were thanked for realizing procurement savings; the court recorded the approvals as part of routine capital-project oversight.
