Kenton County Fiscal Court voted unanimously Thursday to adopt Ordinance 226.32, the Fiscal Year 2027 budget, after a second-reading presentation and brief remarks from the Judge/Executive and staff.
Judge/Executive Kris Knochelmann thanked Treasurer Kurt Greivenkamp and county staff for their work on the budget and noted several items will require future bids and further Fiscal Court approval. "A lot of good things happening this next year," Knochelmann said.
Treasurer Kurt Greivenkamp earlier described smaller year-end budget reconciliations covered in Resolution 26-01I—$45,000 across payroll accounts, a $1,700 reallocation to Police janitorial services from furniture and fixtures, and $6,000 for the road fund payroll reconciliation—which the Court approved separately by unanimous vote.
Commissioner Beth Sewell highlighted staff work that helped reduce the parking-structure contract by roughly $3 million and thanked department heads involved in budget preparations. The ordinance passed on a roll-call vote with Commissioners Jon Draud, Joe Nienaber, Sewell and Judge/Executive Knochelmann recorded as "yes."
