The Boyle County Fiscal Court approved multiple budget transfers and adopted the county’s fiscal-year budget at its June 21 meeting.
County finance staff reported two packet updates that raised the bills to a grand total of $973,808.42; county staff asked for approval of a $128,679.38 budget transfer and several cash transfers between the general fund and special accounts. Elena, the county finance staff member who presented the bill packet, told the court, "Your bill packet totaled $725,635.02," and explained the additional items that raised the grand total. Motions to accept the transfers and the bills were moved and approved by voice vote.
The court also approved an emergency purchase for first-responder interoperability. The expenditure — for an interop communications device from Southern Communications — was described as "up to $10,000," and the court authorized payment when the invoice arrives. The presiding officer emphasized the purchase's urgency given summer events and first-responder needs.
The required second statutory reading and adoption of the county budget was presented by Shannon Green, who stated the budget had been approved by the Department for Local Government and returned for court adoption. The court moved, seconded and approved the budget by voice vote.
