Board adopts ordinance amending SALDO and approves multiple grant resolutions

At its April 16 meeting, the Salem Township Board adopted Ordinance 1-2025 to amend portions of the township's Subdivision and Land Development Ordinance (SALDO), including consultant fee charging/escrow provisions and revised subdivision definitions. The board also approved Resolution 11-2025 to modify filing and review fees under the SALDO.
In related land-use actions, supervisors approved sewage-facilities planning modules: Resolution 8-2025 (Bash Subdivision & Frye lot-line revision) and Resolution 9-2025 (Sauer property at 197 Congruity Road). The board also approved Resolution 10-2025 to remove a parcel (Westmoreland County Tax Map Parcel No. 57-18-00-0-084) from the township's Agricultural Security Area.
The board unanimously affirmed a letter of support for a Community Conservation Partnership Program (C2P2) grant from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for the Regional Trail Corporation to acquire 2.660 acres to advance the Westmoreland Heritage Trail Middle Gap initiative. Separately, supervisors approved Resolution 13-2025 to submit a PA Small Water & Sewer Program grant application for Tower Lane and Apple Lane waterline extension, designating an agent and approving pro forma documents.
