Boyle County renews EMS equipment-inspection contract and notes rising call volumes

EMS Director Mike Rogers asked the court to approve the annual Shryker contract to inspect and repair ambulance and EMS equipment. Rogers said the contract has been in place for many years and that the higher amount this year reflects a new stretcher purchase that affected warranty timing; the contract sums to $19,769.60 and the court approved it on voice vote.
Rogers also reported call volume increases: "624 for June, and we're already up to 288 for July," he said. The director described operations as "busy, busy, busy" and asked the court to note that the first year of a new stretcher is covered by warranty but subsequent service costs were factored into the contract increase.
