The Boyle County Fiscal Court appointed Charlie Westerfield and Jeff Reardon to fill two firefighter-member vacancies on the Boyle County Fire Board during the July 14 meeting. The judge said both appointees have long service records with local fire departments — Charlie about nine years and Jeff roughly 39 years — and will finish the unexpired terms.
Judge Trillie Bottom announced the appointments and specified terms: "Charlie's term will run through next year, 06/30/2027, and Jeff's will run through, 06/30/2028, at which time they would then have to have elections." The court approved the appointments by voice vote.
