Commission approves in‑principle extension of city manager’s employment agreement

The commission approved in principle an amendment to extend the city manager’s employment agreement by five years as described on the agenda. Commissioner Chambers said the extension was intended to provide continuity and recognized the city manager’s work. The city manager acknowledged the vote of confidence and said he appreciated the opportunity to continue leading the organization.
Next steps: city attorneys will prepare the amended agreement and bring the full contract language and any requested changes to the Oct. 15 commission meeting for final action.
