Salem supervisors approve $652,514.68 in expenditures; new Gradall purchase noted

At the March 19 meeting the Salem Township Board of Supervisors approved monthly expenditures totaling $652,514.68. The board recorded fund-level totals: General Fund $55,133.26; Payroll $50,555.57; Street Lights $492.33; Machinery $524,678.67; Sewer Revenue $1,101.00; Liquid Fuels $20,553.85. The expenditure motion was made by Ken Trumbetta and seconded by Kerry Jobe; Supervisors Bob Zundel, Ken Trumbetta and Kerry Jobe voted in favor.
Supervisor Kerry Jobe explained the large Machinery Fund figure was due to the purchase of a new Gradall and said the township already received $498,000 reimbursement from the Commonwealth Financing Authority. "The total cost of the Gradall is $523,000," Jobe said. The board also approved advertising bids for a used 1986 Gradall (VIN G856069), with bids due April 14 and award scheduled for the April 16 meeting.
