Boyle County combines nuisance and excessive grass rules and approves equipment purchase for enforcement

The court approved the first reading and said staff will provide an ordinance number for the second reading.
Muncy said enforcement has strained department resources and proposed buying a John Deere X350 (42-inch deck) and a Stihl weed eater under state contract for $3,781.17 to allow county crews to perform some mowing and cleanups related to enforcement. "We put more teeth into it. We have more fines," Muncy said, and the court approved the equipment purchase by voice vote. Staff noted the need for a future budget amendment to accommodate enforcement expenses and expected fine revenue to offset some costs.
