Katie Owens addressed the commission during public comment to urge reconsideration of water-billing practices, saying the increase is unaffordable for residents on limited incomes. "I shouldn't be paying $52. And now my August bill is gonna be, 68. That is so much more than I can afford... I'm asking you please reconsider, readdress the water billing issue," she said.
Commissioner (Seth) responded during the commissioners'remarks portion that he had spoken with Mr. Stockwell about a budget-billing plan for the city's water customers similar to the power company's fixed-payment option for customers on fixed incomes. The commission did not take formal action at the meeting but directed staff to continue exploring options.
