Board reviews accreditation work, specimen-transport plan draft and administrative manual progress

Staff reported the Accreditation Pathways process is on track about a year in, the draft 2026 Specimen Transport Plan was distributed (final due in March), and a standard operating manual is being developed for future board review.
Public health staff told the board Accreditation Pathways work is on track approximately one year into the process, and reported staff-identified goals for 2025 were met or exceeded while similar planning for 2026 is underway.
The board received the draft 2026 Specimen Transport Plan; staff said the finalized plan is due in March. Separately, staff are working on a standard operating (administrative protocol) manual that will be presented to the board for information when complete.
Staff also said they will coordinate a training session with the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services for new board members and that the State has provided Board of Health resources for the board to review at future meetings.
