Deer Lodge County’s Planning Director Carl Hamming briefed the Commission on a grant application to fund an Airport Layout Plan (ALP) and AGIS survey at Bowman Airfield. Hamming said survey work could include lidar collection; depending on availability and cost, that lidar can be gathered via drone or by aircraft.
Public commenter Janice Hagan-Delaney asked if other aircraft such as fixed-wing planes or helicopters would be used in addition to drones; Hamming replied that both drone and aircraft options are possible. The Commission approved the grant application 5-0.
