Residents press county on Sly Park Road cleanup, Cal Fire inspections and civic engagement during open forum

During the 1:00 p.m. open forum, residents raised local infrastructure and civic-engagement concerns. Ken Greenwood (identified himself as from Triple Junction) told the board that Sly Park Road still has loose gravel and leftover chip-seal material in ditches after recent work and asked that crews return to clear drainage to avoid flow-line problems when it rains.
Greenwood also questioned whether CAL FIRE’s escrow inspections adequately recognized problems he observed in a neighbor’s property. He urged the county to apply driveway and road-access clearance standards consistently. Karen Garner and the CAO noted county reporting options: the DOT maintenance web form and a general CAO email (edc_cao@edcgov.us) for public inquiries so the county can track and respond.
Roger Trout returned briefly to thank staff for earlier help. Leo Benekoshawn urged the board to improve citizen engagement and asked the board to direct Transportation to respond to public-reported concerns about reflectors and lane markings. The CAO and staff reiterated existing reporting mechanisms and encouraged residents to use them so issues can be logged and addressed.
