Commissioners learned the city has completed curb-ramp upgrades at several Main Street intersections and that additional crossings with marked RRFB flashing devices are part of the recommended pedestrian improvements. A commissioner noted the city completed curb and ramp work at three intersections this past season, while staff said a few more locations remain to be upgraded.
The group also revisited prior use of temporary speed tables in neighboring jurisdictions and the negative feedback those installations generated; commissioners agreed permanent traffic-calming devices should be tested and coordinated with public feedback and maintenance considerations.
