Planning commission tables Main Street implementation matrix after edits proposed

The Alpine City Planning Commission on Feb. 17 voted to table the implementation matrix for the Main Street and Gateway Corridor Small Area Plan while staff and consultants incorporate edits discussed at the meeting. Commissioner Troy Slade moved to table the matrix "with the recommendations that were proposed in this meeting," and the motion was seconded and adopted by voice vote.
City staff member Ryan told commissioners the implementation matrix is the "most important part of this plan" because it translates a long-range vision into prioritized, actionable steps. Commissioners asked the consultants to clarify the matrix's cross-references (the numeric "related recommendations" codes) and to add page references so each implementation line points clearly to the supporting recommendation in the plan.
Commissioners also compiled a short set of edits to be recorded in the motion: remove the proposed raised median at Mountain Veil Academy, remove the proposed mini-roundabout at Main Street and First South, retain selected left-turn restrictions, and replace the draft's "map priority view corridors" language with wording focused on preserving open space and agricultural and mountain views along Alpine Highway. The moderator announced, "Motion carries unanimously," and the item will return to a future meeting after revisions.
