The Martin City Council approved a financial agreement with the State of South Dakota to finance design work for airport reconstruction on Nov. 12.
The work described in the agreement includes redesigning the apron, constructing a hangar taxilane and partial parallel taxiway, expanding the apron and resealing the runway. Under the approved financing arrangement, the city and the state each will pay 2.5 percent of the design costs, with the federal government expected to pay the remaining share.
Councilors approved the agreement by motion and will proceed to coordinate with state and federal partners on project design and funding details.
