Four student board representatives sworn in at Haskell School Board meeting

The Haskell School Board administered the oath to four new student board representatives from Pasco High, Sage View, Chiawana and Delta High and invited them to introduce themselves. Superintendent Whitney called the cohort “absolutely incredible.”
The Haskell School Board formally welcomed and swore in four student board representatives at its regular meeting. Superintendent Whitney led introductions and praised the students’ selection from a competitive pool.
Thais Borje will represent Pasco High School; Lee Louder represents Sage View High School; Jaslyn Moraquin represents Chiawana High School; and Carol Mejia represents Delta High School. Each student introduced family members in attendance and briefly described school activities and goals. Superintendent Whitney said the students were selected from a strong applicant pool and that “they're just absolutely incredible,” thanking families and noting the students’ extracurricular involvement.
Board members welcomed the student representatives and encouraged them to raise issues during reports or to submit ideas for future agendas. The superintendent noted the student representatives and the larger superintendent student action council provide additional student voice beyond the four appointed representatives. The board will look for student participation in upcoming study sessions and reports.
