Weatherford library orders new movable picture-book shelving

The library has ordered new picture-book shelving that staff said will arrive before the fiscal year ends and will be mounted on casters so the units can be moved to reconfigure the floor.
The librarian told the meeting the vendor remeasured the space and the library secured slightly more shelving capacity than expected. "They're in manufactured right now, hoping to come in before the fiscal year ends," the librarian said. Staff estimated vendor timing as late August to early September at the earliest.
Board members and staff discussed finishes and visibility; staff said the new units will resemble existing illuminated shelving on the floor but will omit colored panels to avoid a dated look.
