The Preble County Planning Commission approved Case 1639, a rezoning request presented by Steve Fox of Burkhardt Engineering on behalf of 204 East Street, LLC, to consolidate three parcels at the northeast corner of US 127 and US 40 and reclassify a small agricultural parcel to Highway Service. Fox said the plan calls for demolishing the small rear dwellings, keeping the main building, and installing a new canopy and additional fuel pumps north of the existing station.
Commissioners asked operational and access questions; Fox said existing access on US 127 would remain and be upgraded. Brad Kramer provided historical context for the rear cabins, noting they dated to early highway 'camp' uses. Edward Garrett moved to find the project compatible with Section 810; Jeffrey Kiracofe seconded and the commission approved the rezoning by roll call.
