Preble County panel approves 5-acre split for Tuttle‑Huff family home

Chairman Mike Dare called the Feb. 19 meeting of the Preble County Planning Commission to order and the commission reviewed Case 1638, an application by Christopher A. Huff and Lisa Tuttle‑Huff to split 5.001 acres from a larger farm in Gratis Township for a proposed new single‑family home. Lisa Tuttle‑Huff said the parcel would be “gifted our son and his wife” and that the planned driveway would “follow along the actual creek” to avoid encroaching on productive farmland.
Board members asked about the long lane, creek crossing and maintenance of an existing easement. Adam Huff described the crossing as mostly dry except when it rains, saying the area is ‘‘really just rain water here’’ and that he would use an existing easement and share a maintenance agreement with family. John Grieshop Jr. moved to approve the case, Eric Green seconded, and the roll‑call vote was unanimous in favor. Brad Kramer told the applicants the matter will next appear before the Rural Zoning Commission on March 3 at 7:00 p.m.
