Public Safety Facility committee finds similar costs for preserve-vs-replace options

Andrea Ameden, a committee member, updated the Selectboard on the Public Safety Facility Committee's final feasibility study delivered March 24. The study presented two alternates—one preserving the existing firehouse and one that would demolish it—and an opinion of probable costs showing little difference between the options. Ameden said the committee's next step is to deliver a recommendation to the Selectboard and produce schematic designs.
Selectboard members did not vote on a preferred option at the meeting; the presentation was informational and will be followed by the committee's formal recommendation and schematic-level designs for board review.
