Union seeks coaching positions, scheduling and extra-duty pay changes; Board does not agree
Summary
The NPEA asked to add girls wrestling coach positions, convert Home Economics advisor to Culinary Arts, change contracted hours for certified staff, allow flextime with administrator approval, and raise extra-duty pay from $35 to $40/hour; the Board did not accept these items in the May 14 session.

During negotiations the NPEA proposed several workplace-condition changes: add High School Girls and Middle School Girls wrestling coach positions, replace the Home Economics advisor with a Culinary Arts advisor, revise contracted hours for elementary and secondary certified staff (minutes show an adjustment between 7:30–4:30 and 7:45–4:15), permit administrator-approved flextime so long as contracted hours are met, and increase extra-duty compensation from $35 to $40 per hour. The Board recorded these proposals but did not agree to them in this meeting.
The NPEA also proposed adding an Article 8 addressing Workplace Conditions; that proposal was recorded as a matter for further discussion rather than adopted. These items remain part of ongoing bargaining.
