The NPEA presented several leave-related proposals it asked the Board to accept for the 2026–27 contract year, including increasing personal leave from three to five days (2.1.1), expanding bereavement leave categories and days (2.2.1), and changing sick-leave accrual or eligibility language (2.6.1). The minutes record the Board did not agree to these specific changes during the May 14 session but indicated it would review the district policy governing sick leave.
Separately, the Board and the NPEA tentatively agreed that Family Sick Leave days (2.7.12) do not come from the Sick Leave Bank but instead come from an employee’s personal sick leave days unless the Sick Leave Committee deems the request catastrophic. That tentative agreement was recorded during the meeting.
