The Lawrence County Commission approved event agreements for a series of 'Women on Wheels' bike races after staff confirmed submitted MOUs and insurance naming the county as certificate holder.
Staff said some race routes extend into neighboring counties but the insurance and certificate-of-insurance listing Lawrence County met requirements for county approval. Commissioners voted to approve the routes and advised the organizer to coordinate with other jurisdictions as required.
The commission also noted a gravel race series has submitted materials and may appear on a future agenda for additional approvals.
