Board members updated the CRA on a pair of community-focused items: the redevelopment of a vacant former Boston Market building into a Panda Express and the July 4 celebration budget.
One member reported final approval for Panda Express at a recent commission meeting and that the developer plans an accelerated demolition and build-out schedule. On the July 4 event several members supported maintaining fireworks and adding a drone light show as a supplement for the city's 250th‑anniversary celebration; the CRA executive director confirmed the CRA intends to continue subsidizing the festivities. "We intend to do so," Cal said when asked whether CRA would subsidize the Fourth of July events.
