Commission approves vacation of section line in Strawberry Hill subdivision

The Lawrence County Commission voted to vacate a portion of a section line in the Strawberry Hill subdivision under Resolution 2026-12.
Amy Miller, who identified herself as a co-owner of the nearby property and as associated with planning and zoning, told the commission the section line passes through forest land that is unusable for access or emergency ingress and that adjacent owners have previously vacated similar sections. No members of the public attended to oppose the vacation during the hearing.
Commissioner Flynn said he did not see the vacation as injurious to adjacent owners and moved to approve the resolution. The motion carried by voice vote and the section line was vacated.
