County to sign two state bridge grants totaling about $2.64 million for Nemo Road replacements

He said easements, engineering, hydraulics and permits are in place and that bids can be solicited once the signed agreements return from the state. “We were awarded $1,316,500 for replacement of that structure...and we were awarded $1,322,000,” the highway superintendent said, recommending acceptance and immediate signature. Commissioners voted to authorize the chairman to sign the agreement within the 30-day window so the county can move to bid and, potentially, begin construction this year.
Commissioners emphasized the work as the result of years of coordination and thanked staff and partners involved in getting the grants in place. Staff noted wet-ink signatures must be mailed back to the state as required in the grant documents.
