"Athletic trainers are certified health care professionals who prevent, treat, and diagnose injuries and emergencies," the local trainer said while accepting the proclamation and noting the National Athletic Trainers Association represents more than 45,000 members nationwide. The proclamation also referenced approximately 3,049 athletic trainers in Florida.
The commission thanked the presenter and noted the proclamation as an opportunity to highlight the contribution of athletic trainers in protecting student and athlete health across the community.
