Town Manager: staff trainings set; certified clerk exam and auditor's forensic-audit estimate noted

Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb told the board that she and a colleague (Misti) are signed up for required trainings, including a two-day session at the end of August. Liscomb also said she will take the certified clerk test at the end of July.
On the topic of audits, the town's auditor told officials a forensic audit would cost at least $30,000 and recommended one only if problems are identified in the regular yearly audit. Liscomb also clarified that the town does not control local water or sewer districts and noted the town is signing a mutual aid agreement with the Gouldsboro Fire Department. Thirty notices have been sent regarding unspecified matters noted in the manager's update.
The board asked that personnel policy updates be drafted for a vote at the next meeting; Town Manager Liscomb will prepare the recommended changes.
