Select Board supportive of 2.5-acre donation from Leslie Webb, to seek legal review and town vote
Summary
The Select Board reviewed a letter from the Leslie M. Webb Revocable Trust offering roughly 2.5 acres to the Town, expressed support for acceptance, and directed counsel to prepare the necessary steps because land acquisition requires Town vote under state law.

The Board reviewed a letter from the Leslie M. Webb Revocable Trust offering to convey about 2.5 acres of land to the Town. The parcel, acquired by tax deed in 1985 and now owned by Leslie Webb, lies between the railroad property and adjacent town-owned land, and Board members discussed potential conservation, access and future public benefit including possible access to the CSX parcel at Rockingham Junction.
Chairman Harmon suggested moving forward with acceptance in principle, but Town counsel was to be consulted because under New Hampshire law the acquisition or disposal of real property requires voter approval. The Chair directed the matter to Attorney Boldt for review and preparation of the required legal steps.
