Parker County Commissioners on Monday approved a $32,156 change order with Mid Continental Restoration to replace courthouse windows damaged in a June 1 hailstorm. The court voted 4–0 to authorize the work and fund it from the county's insurance deductible line.
A county staff member told the court the work is part of Contract Change Order No. 1 and that the cost “totals out to $32,156.” The staff member said the expense will be applied to the county's $50,000 deductible for the hail event and that damages at other county buildings are still under review.
Officials discussed logistics for the window work, noting some windows require lifts and that specialty historic finishes can raise costs. The court approved the change order on a motion by Commissioner Hale and a second from Commissioner Connolly; the clerk recorded the vote as 4–0 in favor.
