Craig Smith, Division Director of Operations, told commissioners that construction change orders completed in December resulted in a net contract decrease of $658,555.78, and that total changes over the past 12 months increased contract values by 1.79% overall.
Smith highlighted individual projects exceeding $100,000 in change or 25% change to contract amounts, including: a $397,632.58 decrease on project NH 0012(281)233 (US12, Edmunds County) due to adjusted as-built quantities and applied disincentives; a $232,862.07 increase on IM-B-CR 2292(101)3 (I-229 Exit 4, Minnehaha County) to improve constructability and safety; and other reductions on resurfacing projects where as-built quantities were lower than plan estimates.
