Town manager flags training shortfall, Lobster Festival additions and float safety check

Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb told the Selectmen on July 28 that training costs are stretching the town budget and she does not see how the town can pay for a budget committee member to take a class this year.
Liscomb also reported that Lobster Festival preparations are progressing: the parade remains a central event, and organizers have added a car show and Friday-night cornhole games. She said she will sign paperwork related to a Rural Community Development Opportunity and work with HCPC on that item. Separately, Liscomb noted the newly installed floats do not have enough flotation and that M. Young will inspect them for corrective steps.
