Simons elected chair, Frick named vice-chair of South Dakota Transportation Commission

The South Dakota Transportation Commission voted to elect Vice-chairman Austin Simons as chair and Commissioner Chris Frick as vice-chair. The Commission moved to cease nominations and approved the elections by roll call; the newly elected officers’ terms will begin at the next Commission meeting.
The nominations were made during the organizational portion of the meeting: Commissioner Lynn Jensen nominated Simons for chair, and Commissioner Mike Vehle nominated Frick for vice-chair. The Commission formalized the action by roll call vote, with all present voting aye except the nominees themselves when required to abstain from voting for their own election.
