Council OKs subsurface testing for N. Bowers Road extension and wastewater plant core

Chief of Police Keith Vincent asked which road was involved; Mayor Douglas Watkins explained the project is the N. Bowers Road extension, an emergency evacuation route, and that the town has a DEQ application to expand the wastewater plant on the east side. Watkins said it is cost-effective to core the wastewater plant while crews are coring for the road.
The proposal authorizes subsurface exploration; the council did not record any changes to project scope or budget during the meeting.
