County staff presented the 2025 annual inventory report on June 23 and told the court the process shows improvement over past years. Staff said items still missing will remain on departments' inventories for up to three years before they are removed if not located.
The court also authorized a county surplus-property online auction scheduled for July 21–August 1, with advertising beginning July 5 and vehicle/item pickup in August. Items listed for auction included furniture, computers and IT-related devices, mowers, fuel and water tanks, several vehicles, a track loader and a Caterpillar piece of equipment. Commissioners specifically noted concern about missing Motorola radios because of their replacement cost.
The inventory report was approved by the court 4-0; staff commended the internal audit process and highlighted cooperation across departments.
