County approves design work to realign Ville Station at FM 51 after recent crash

Parker County Commissioners on June 23 approved design services to realign the Ville Station intersection at FM 51 in Precinct 1.
A county presenter said the realignment would move where the connecting road meets FM 51 to a location ‘‘where the site distance is much better and and get a better angle on the road.’’ A commissioner noted there had been a wreck at that location the previous week involving left turns. The court voted 4-0 to authorize the design contract and directed staff to work with TxDOT on permitting.
The design work follows survey and preconstruction steps the county previously completed. Staff said the project is intended to improve safety by reducing conflict points at the approach.
