Bexar County canvassing authority adopts Nov. 4 election results after discussion on night-of posting

The Bexar County canvassing authority voted unanimously to adopt the official canvass and declare the results of the Nov. 4, 2025 joint constitutional amendment, general, special and bond election. The motion, offered on the record by Commissioner Clay Flores and seconded by Commissioner Rodriguez, carried after a brief staff report and questions from the court.

Elections administrator Michelle Carew presented summary results, reporting that state propositions passed with wide margins across the county and that local propositions A and B carried in Bexar County with 55.91% and 52.14%, respectively. Carew told the court the final county numbers were posted on the elections website at 11:12 p.m. on election night. "We were completely counted 100% shortly after 11 p.m. and posted subsequently after," she said. She also cited election-code provisions that govern when precinct results may be prepared and certified.

Several commissioners pressed staff on why early-vote or night-of electronic updates sometimes appear later online than media briefings. Carew said lines of voters still in polling places delayed posting early-vote tallies and explained that processes required returning judges and materials to central headquarters for tabulation. She added that recent changes to state law affect the timing of early-vote disclosures in future elections. The court recessed the canvassing authority and reconvened as the commissioners court after the motion carried.
