Study Commission approves edits to draft Final Report, schedules June 29 sign-off

Butte–Silver Bow’s Government Study Commission approved a suite of editorial and substantive edits to its draft Final Report, agreed to complete remaining revisions, and set a June 29, 2026 meeting to give final approval.
The Butte–Silver Bow Government Study Commission reviewed and approved a series of edits to its draft Final Report at its June 22, 2026 meeting and agreed to reconvene on June 29 for final sign-off. Commissioners directed specific changes to the public-input summary, appendix materials and several charter-related sections.
Mary McCormick recommended revising the public input summary “to better reflect the concerns of both rural and urban residents,” proposing removal of a separate bullet that described rural residents as underrepresented; the change, along with other editorial adjustments listed in the meeting packet, was approved by unanimous consent. The Commission also agreed that remaining revisions will be completed before final approval at the June 29 meeting.
The Commission instructed staff to include additional supporting materials in the appendix and to correct multiple formatting and content items before the next meeting. A motion to adjourn later in the meeting was made by Mary McCormick and seconded by Shaw and carried.
