The Summit County Service Area #3 Board unanimously approved an updated personnel policy on April 21, adopting Resolution 2026-03. The update adds language about continuation of operations and application of FMLA during the acting general manager’s absence and changes Article II, Section 6 from 'shall' to 'may' to clarify the Board’s role in the hiring process.
Trustees debated whether to include an IT policy in the personnel policy; Chair Derek Price said IT could be handled as a separate policy. The Board approved the revisions with a 7-0 vote and directed staff to proceed with implementation per the adopted resolution.
