New state law shortens open-meetings posting window; Parker County sets Tuesday noon deadline

"That deadline...would have to be the Tuesday at noon," the clerk said, explaining that three business days excludes weekends and holidays and that staff needs time to assemble and publish agendas. Commissioners discussed whether a fixed Monday deadline would add consistency; staff and department heads cautioned that fixed days could conflict with holidays and the statutory interpretation. The court voted to adopt the procedural change, agreed to have the clerk circulate a calendar reflecting the new deadlines, and recorded the adopted practice effective immediately.
