Director Todd Chatfield told the board that Avis ceased car rentals at the airport effective Feb. 1, 2026; staff will keep a representative on site through the month's end to finalize the Gillette location. He said if no new rental company occupies Avis' counter area by the end of June, Avis will continue to pay counter rent until a replacement is found.
Chatfield said the CC Car Wash space will return to Overland West, which currently manages Hertz, and that he will draft a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the available rental counter area. He told the board the RFP is out for committee review and he plans to issue the RFP on March 2 to solicit bids for occupancy of the counter area.
The board was also introduced to Kale Meiss as the new Hertz manager at the airport during the Directors report.
