The Yates County Legislature approved Resolution 137-26 to accept FAA grant funding (90% federal share) and NYSDOT matching funds for several Penn Yan–Yates County Airport projects, including rehabilitation of Runway 10/28 design work, replacement of snow removal equipment, reconstruction of 8,000 feet of wildlife fencing and design of runway end identifier lights. The resolution provided a funding table showing federal, state and local shares for each project and authorized the Chair to execute agreement T042303 with NYSDOT for financial assistance.
Following the grant authorization, the Legislature approved consultant agreements with C & S Companies to prepare CATEX environmental assessments needed by the FAA for (1) the electrical homerun replacement (not to exceed $14,700) and (2) Taxiway B rehabilitation (not to exceed $19,700). The resolutions specified that execution was contingent on County Attorney review and FAA concurrence; votes on the airport grant acceptance and consultant agreements were unanimous.
