The Cemetery Commission welcomed new members Maria Carr and Chris Marsden at its July 28 meeting and approved a slate of officers for one-year terms. Peter Williams proposed himself as chair, Patricia (Pat) Flynn as vice chair and Cheryl as clerk; Chris Marsden moved to adopt the slate and Maria Carr seconded. Commissioners recorded unanimous approval of the slate.
Peter Williams, a commission member who opened the meeting, framed the introductions and governance proposal as a way to maintain continuity after the longtime chair stepped down. The group also voted to approve the minutes of the June 27 meeting; the motion passed with recorded "Aye" votes and one abstention. The commission scheduled a site visit for Aug. 13 and set its next regular meeting for Aug. 25.
