Commission notes local rider Jordan Lepaka representing U.S. at FEI Dressage worlds; town to recognize in events magazine
Summary
The commission heard that local rider Jordan Lepaka was chosen to represent the United States at the FEI Dressage World Championship in Germany (Aug. 11–15). Town electronic‑board policy prevents naming individuals there, so commissioners proposed an events‑magazine blurb and a town council mention.

The Chair told the commission that Ledyard rider Jordan Lepaka (Maverick Hill Dressage; Standing Stone Farms) was selected as one of four U.S. riders for the FEI Dressage World Championship and will compete Aug. 11–15 in Germany. "He will be competing August 11th through the 15th... this is quite an honor for him to be one of four to be picked to go to this event," the Chair said, noting the commission had contacted Lepaka and that he appreciated local recognition while overseas.
The Chair said town policy for the electronic bulletin board prevents naming private individuals unless the content is town‑related, so the commission discussed alternatives: a short blurb in the town events magazine and a town council mention. The liaison agreed to work with the Chair to add a congratulatory mention at the next town council meeting and to prepare an events‑magazine blurb when Lepaka returns in late August.
