• Creation of Data Entry Supervisor — Health (Grade 11): Motion carried. The committee approved creation of one Data Entry Supervisor position (Grade 11) to manage permitting data and state-reportable violations; Health staff said the department handles approximately 3,000 permit applications annually. The motion was made by Kathy Stegenga and seconded by Virginia Scott.
• COPS grant appropriation for six deputy positions: The committee approved appropriation of $750,000 in federal COPS grant funds to create six grant-funded Deputy Sheriff positions. An amendment by Legislator Kathy Stegenga to remove the clause that would "automatically abolish" positions if grant funding stops failed 5–2–1 (Stegenga and Ruszkiewicz in favor; Tobin, Hill, Scott, Essig and Hunter opposed; Sassi absent). The final appropriation motion carried as originally presented.
